I’ve decided to take a brief hiatus from the Self Employed Movement. Or at least writing about it. Self-employment is still the goal but that is on the back burner for right now.
This hiatus is definitely an unexpected one.
I’m not ready to fully share what’s been going on but let’s just say that plans don’t always pan out like you think they will.
That’s not necessarily a bad thing; it just takes some adjusting and realigning. And that takes some time.
It’ll all work out in the long run but it’s simply overwhelming at the moment.
It’s taking a toll mentally to the point where whatever I try to write about turns to shit.
So I’ll spare us all and take some time away.
Thankfully, there is a silver lining to all of this; I finally put one of my side hustles out there for everyone to come across.
It’s called Habermann & Sons. It’s something that my dad and I are taking on together.
He’s the artist and I’m the numbers guy. We work well together so hopefully we’ll create great things and we’ll help one another slowly become self-employed.
Here’s our first product:
My awesome impromptu picture doesn’t do it much justice but if I would have waited any longer, it probably would have been months until I created the business and that wouldn’t have helped us at all. In other words, I decided that perfection will never happen so I just did it and I can correct course as I go!
Like my dad hand-lettered, “let the adventure begin!”
The next couple of months will certainly be an adventure both business-wise and life-wise.
I’ll see you guys again when the time is right.
Until then, good luck with your hopes and goals. May we all find happiness and fulfillment in our lives.
I enjoyed reading your blog, Marc – and I’ll be back to read more once you’re ready to start writing again. I understand your position – sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
Best of luck with the Etsy store!

Thanks for all the support throughout! I’m hoping to be able to dedicate enough time for the blog again around May.

Thanks for writing your blog and best of luck with whatever the future holds. At times, you reminded me of a younger version of my own work-hating self — I’m glad you’re moving toward a different, (seemingly) healthier path. Best–

Thank you, sir. The hatred for my job still remains. I’m hoping once all is settled around May or so that I’ll be able to re-evaluate my work status then.
